Lazy eye, or amblyopia, is a vision disorder in children in which one eye has poorer vision than the other. The main reason is that the brain does not receive the image from the weak eye well and gradually ignores it. Early diagnosis is very important, because if treatment is given in childhood, vision usually improves significantly. Treatment methods include wearing glasses, covering the healthy eye (patch therapy), and strengthening vision with specialized exercises.
